The Japan Riders Forum has announced the dates for the Sunrise Sunset Touring Rally (SSTR) in 2026, a motorcycle festival that is eagerly awaited by riders across Japan.

The rally will be held from May 23 (Sat.) to May 31 (Sun.), 2026. The details of the event and the start of entry will be announced on the SSTR website and SNS at a later date.

What is SSTR?

The SSTR is a grand adventure rally across the Japanese archipelago, conceived by world-renowned motorcycle adventurer Fukashi Kazama. It is characterized by simple rules: riders start from the east coast at sunrise and aim for Senrihama beach in Ishikawa prefecture by sunset. The interaction between riders and the warm welcome from the local people have made the rally popular, and the number of participants has grown from 127 at the start to more than 12,000 by 2023.

Capacity of 14,000 riders! Weekday running quota greatly expanded!

The SSTR2026 has a capacity of 14,000 vehicles, and the response to the SSTR2025 has been far greater than expected, with the weekday race slots selling out in just 5 minutes from the start of the registration process. The SSTR Steering Committee is planning to expand the number of weekday race slots to allow more riders to participate. The SSTR Steering Committee commented, "We are currently preparing various plans so that riders from all over Japan and the local people of Senrihama, who always give us a warm welcome, can share the best memories of the event.

JRF ENTRY SYSTEM Membership Registration

To enter the SSTR, you must register as a member of the " JRF ENTRY SYSTEM ". First-time entrants must complete membership registration at JRF ENTRY SYSTEM before the start of entry in late February. If you are already a member, you do not need to register again, but we recommend that you confirm your registered address to prevent erroneous delivery of your bibs and other items. In addition to the SSTR, the Japan Riders Forum (JRF), the organizer of the SSTR, plans to hold a variety of themed touring rallies in 2026. Under the theme of "turning the joy of driving into the joy of society," attractive events include " Nippon Ouen Touring," a game-like touring rally focusing on community contributions, and " POLE to POLE," which will be held for the first time in two years and traverse the Japanese archipelago from Cape Sata, the southernmost point of mainland Japan, to Cape Soya, the northernmost point of Japan.
