0024 WORKS' Z900RS

The Z900RS is a regular project bike at 0024 Works, and among the different versions they handle, the half-fairing version is especially common. While it looks like it might be the same Candy Tone Blue that was added to the stock color options in 2022, there’s a twist to the story.

“This bike was fully painted in this blue color before the official Candy Tone Blue was even announced,” explains Mr. Onishi from 0024 Works. “Back in 2020, the customer asked for a ‘blue theme,’ and at that time, this color didn’t exist in the stock lineup. So we painted it from scratch, including the fairing. The customer also wanted it based on my own Z900RS –with Yellow Tiger coloring– so the setup closely follows mine.”

The half-fairing is a cafe racer-style cowl kit made by American Dream. At 0024 Works, they use their own custom fairing brackets that allow lower, clip-on handlebars to be fitted without interfering with the fairing. The same setup is used here to install a clip-on handlebar. Other elements like the wider 200-size rear tire (the stock size is 180) also follow Onishi’s Yellow Tiger bike. Some things are different – the swingarm and brakes remain stock, there’s no side frame, and the mirrors are also different – but overall, the look captures the same spirit, just with a blue theme instead of yellow.

One standout feature is the use of vibrant gold-anodized parts throughout the bike. These details match the yellow lines of the Tiger-style design and offer a sharp contrast to the deep blue paint. 0024 Works handles all kinds of Z900RS customization. Handlebar

The bike uses clip-on handlebars from Hurricane. The top bridge has a custom aluminum cover made by 0024 Works, which hides the bolt holes left by the stock handlebar mounts and adds a custom touch. The meter panel also has extra lettering added.

Bodywork

The fairing is a cafe racer-style cowl kit from American Dream. 0024 Works created special brackets so the handlebars don’t interfere with the fairing.

The seat was swapped for a tuck 'n roll type, and the front and rear turn signals were changed to compact versions with smoked orange lenses to keep them low-profile.

Engine

The engine itself is stock. However, a K-Factory radiator guard and frame sliders were added for protection.The exhaust system is an optional-spec Neo Short High-Mount type from American Dream, featuring a polished finish, quenching (heat-treatment), and shot blasting with a logo stamped on the end section.

Chassis

The rearsets are custom-colored by BEET. The front sprocket cover, shift shaft holder, and frame plugs are from K-Factory.

The front forks are the stock 41mm inverted type and are fitted with an Ohlins cartridge kit inside. The brakes are currently stock.

The rear shock is also from Ohlins. The front and rear wheels are Marchesini’s forged aluminum M7RS with a 7-spoke design, chosen for their excellent combination of light weight and strength. Sizes are 3.50-17 (front) and 6.00-17 (rear).
