KTM Japan Inc. has announced the launch of the new KTM 390 ADVENTURE X, MY2026. This model is positioned as the sibling of the middle-class adventure model KTM 390 ADVENTURE R, making it the perfect entry-level adventure model. This model offers more balanced packaging, including price, and focuses on on-road use.

A single-cylinder engine with a DOHC head that delivers 45 hp, similar to the KTM 390 ADVENTURE R, is mounted on a special ADVENTURE frame. Modifications to the suspension unit and the adoption of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast wheels improve comfort on paved roads. In particular, the seat height is set lower at 825mm in the "X" model compared to 870mm in the "R" model, making it easier to handle.

The rally-railed styling remains the same as the "R," but with lower seats. (The color pictured is not available in Japan.)

The styling of the "R" is inspired by rally models, with a two-light vertical eye face design, a slim and compact body that can only be achieved with a single cylinder, a 14-liter fuel tank, front and rear LED lights, LCD dashboard, and ABS, while still providing all the necessary features.

Combining on-road comfort and sportiness

The front and rear suspension is WP APEX, with special settings for the "X."

The front and rear suspension, which combines ride comfort and moderate movement, is designed to satisfy both beginners and advanced riders. WP APEX 43mm open cartridge forks at the front and WP APEX emulsion shock absorbers at the rear are used, and together with the direct feel of the cast wheels, they accurately transmit changes in the road surface to the rider on paved roads.

The larger screen and powerful 45 hp engine also excel at long highway tours. The high wind protection and power to lead the flow of traffic will also contribute to reducing fatigue on long trips.

This adventure model is recommended for riders who "want to enjoy traveling at their own pace, regardless of road and driving conditions," and who "want to be able to handle off-road riding while focusing mainly on on-road riding.
