From custom parts for discontinued models to racing suspensions

PMC is a manufacturer that has produced many replacement and custom parts for discontinued bikes, including the Z series, and in 2020 they launched the ARCHI brand for current models. They are also the Japanese distributor for the premium suspension brand YSS from Thailand, a country famous for being a motorcycle paradise. They support a wide range of motorcycle lifestyles and at the 51st Tokyo Motorcycle Show held this year, they had some great booths showing off the appeal of the various brands they are connected to. Among them, the suspension parts displayed at the YSS booth caught our attention. Starting with monoshocks and forks that offer performance for any kind of riding, from street to track, as well as on and off-road, to a wide lineup of twin shocks, shocks made in collaboration with other famous brands, and even a color order service, YSS is truly the pinnacle of suspension products. Let's take a look at some of their top-selling items.

Brand collaboration suspensions!

YSS collaboration suspensions show off new logos and colorings. These suspensions are available in collaboration with leading Japanese brands such as G'craft (GILD Design), Over Racing, EFFEX (PLOT), MFD (Worthwhile), as well as of course PMC, the exclusive distributor of YSS suspensions in Japan. Original suspension orders are also available.

A complete lineup of twin shocks!

When one hears the term "race use," modern models tend to spring to mind, but YSS also offers a wide variety of twin shocks. From the basic model RE302 (49,500 JPY and up) to the fully adjustable high-end model RG362-TRW (187,000 JPY and up), you're sure to find the perfect suspension for your machine.

Candy colors have been added to the options for special order!

For the rear suspension spring color order service, in addition to the existing nine colors, red, blue, and gold candy colors have been added. As the saying goes, fashion starts from the feet up, and a special order color suspension will surely stand out from the crowd! Various types of steering dampers are also available.

At the Tokyo Motorcycle Show booth, many racers and other demo bikes were exhibited equipped with plenty of custom parts from YSS, PMC, ARCHI, and other brands. It was great to see actual bikes equipped with these parts for reference.

The winning machine from Taste of Tsukuba!

The Z900RS from YSS ARCHI Racing, which was developed to compete in the Street Fighter Class of "Taste of Tsukuba", one of the largest event races in Japan, was also on display. The front forks are fitted with an Open Cartridge Kit (132,000 JPY), and the rear suspension is an MX456-TRW with HPA (160,600 JPY) fitted with a steering damper (70,400 JPY), all YSS parts.

Experiencing suspension settings!

The booth also featured a setup that allowed visitors to experience the setting differences when adjusting the damping force of the rear suspension and front forks. It was a great way to really feel how much a change in suspension can affect your ride. I wish everyone who thinks they won't be able to tell the difference between suspensions could have tried this out!
