I'm an off-road rider who rides a KTM 250EXC-F and would like to introduce some parts that I myself installed when I started Enduro riding as well as some of our best-selling custom parts! I'll also include parts that are recommended for those who want to make their Enduro debut, so please take a look.

Parts to improve performance and ride quality

Many enduro races have long running times and involve riding up and down mountain slopes, rivers, and other rough terrain. As a result, there is a possibility of getting sweaty, getting covered in mud, and being exhausted while you have to keep riding. In the worst case scenario, you may even have to lift your bike or push it and walk. Therefore, it is better to make your bike as comfortable and easy to ride as possible, so you can finish the race with a smile on your face without totally exhausting yourself. The items introduced here are parts that I have used myself and found to contribute to an easier ride.

Seat Covers

By changing the seat cover, you can not only change the appearance of the seat, but also increase the grip. Increasing the grip will help keep you stable when getting pushed by acceleration Gs, and can make riding easier. There are two types of seat covers, ribbed and non-ribbed, and we will introduce them both.

[PRO GRIP] Seat Cover

This PRO GRIP seat cover is popular among Webike staff who participate in enduro races. It is a non-ribbed seat cover, available in two types: a standard model with a standard non-slip finish and a SUPERGRIP model with large protrusions that produce strong stopping power. It has a strong bite to grip the inner thighs so that you can hold to the bike body not only while sitting but also standing. You can also concentrate more on riding in wet or muddy conditions. Also, it stretches very well, so it's really easy to put on.

[EnjoyMFG] Seat Cover

EnjoyMFG is known for their durable and grippy seat covers specially designed for off-road machines! They offer a wide range of color variations, with the option to choose the color of the seat and ribs separately, or change the logo on the side of the seat to that of your own bike. I have used their seat covers myself and found that it is easy to stabilize your posture when accelerating or decelerating downhill because the ribs catch and grip your body. Dirt easily gets into the gaps between the ribs, so be sure to check for that when you wash your bike!

Footpegs

Custom footpegs increase the contact area of the step and improve standing stability, which is an essential skill in enduro racing. I myself have experienced this increase in stability that makes it easier to stand when going uphill. It makes a big difference in the level of fatigue that you feel after the race.

[DRC] Footpeg

DRC mainly handles parts for off-roading. They are popular with many off-road riders because of their relatively low prices and large lineup of repair parts. This product uses "chromoly steel," a material with high strength and durability. It also lets you choose the height of the cleats which is a nice feature since you can change it according to your own physique and preferences.

The available sizes are as follows (not available for some models):
- High (5mm higher than Mid)
- Mid (same as stock)
- Low (5mm lower than Mid)

[PROMOTO BILLET (FASTWAY)] Footpeg

It is no exaggeration to say that this wide stainless steel footpeg is the best on the market! PROMOTO BILLET footpegs are available in two types: a type similar to conventional footpegs (Evo3, Evo4, Adventure, EVO Air) and a type with an additional step on the heel (Air EXT). They have a very wide tread surface and are multifunctional, so I would also like to try them out.

Functions of Evo3, Evo4, Adventure, and EVO Air
Function 1: The step rotation axis can be switched between standard position and "back & low" by changing the direction of collar insertion.
→The rearset position changes the way traction is applied and makes it easier to shift the center of gravity.
Function 2: The angle of the step can be changed by adjusting the amount of protrusion of the bolt that contacts the frame.
→Depending on the angle you choose, the step angle may change to a knee-grip position.
Function 3: By changing the length of the cleats, it is possible to change to a pseudo-round step.
→This makes it easier to control with a slight weight shift.

Air EXT includes the above functions as well as the following:
Traction control using a sub-step protruding from the rear.
→The contact surface, including the sub-step, is greatly increased, making it easier to control.

[NUETECH] TUbliss Core

Recently TUbliss tires have been gaining recognition! By going tubeless, the tire pressure can be reduced to a whopping 0 kgf/cm2, allowing the tire to maximize its power on difficult terrain (such as areas with rocks and logs). By filling the "inner tube" inside the main body with air at a high pressure of about 8 to 10 kgf/cm2, the structure is designed to press the bead of the tire from the inside. This means that as long as the inner tube is not punctured, it is possible to keep riding even if you get a flat!

I myself use these tires, and they allow me to lower the air pressure to the limit, which increases grip and makes it easier to get traction. Incidentally, it also eliminates the common problem of getting a flat when the tube gets pinched by the tire, and if you are mindful of the inner tube, you can easily replace the tire.

Extra: Pull Straps

A pull strap is a must-have item when competing in enduro races! It's not 100% necessary, but it will be easier to get help if you get stuck somewhere. I myself had an experience when I fell down a cliff during a race, and a staff member was able to pull me up because I had a pull strap attached to my bike. Some people even say that it is good manners to have one. From the point of view of the staff helping you, there is a world of difference with or without a pull strap, so I recommend attaching one.

[TREKFIELD] Pull Strap

You'll be hard pressed to go to an Enduro race and not see one of these pull straps. Since it can be installed without removing the front fork, you can attach it without the need for any tools. In addition, off-road racers have a solid seat rail, so it can be installed on the rear as well.

Summary

In any race, a bike that wont break and will get you home safely is the cornerstone of safety and security. If you customize your bike with the parts we have introduced in these two articles, you can considerably reduce the possibility of your bike breaking in the event of a fall or other accident. Please take on the challenge of enduro racing after making sure to customize your bike so that you can finish the race with a smile on your face and enjoy the experience!
