SHOEI, a well-known helmet manufacturer, has launched a carry case business as a new business utilizing its long-cultivated helmet manufacturing technology, and has announced the release of its first model, "X-CORE," in limited quantities on the support purchase site "Makuake.

SHOEI, which has been expanding its motorcycle helmet business in the global market, launched the carry case business as a new business from the perspective of long-term sustainable growth and diversification of business risks amid the aging of the rider population and diversification of hobbies among the younger generation. Helmets and carry cases share a common concept of "protection," and their structures and production technologies are similar. In addition, the company chose the carry case business because it is expected to grow globally over the long term, has demand regardless of gender or age, and can take advantage of SHOEI's strengths, such as its emphasis on brand value and after-sales service.
The X-CORE is made of GFRP, which is used in helmets, and offers a texture and robustness not found in ordinary carry-on cases. Another key point is that it is an easy-to-use carry-on size.
The sleek design of the "X-CORE" is suitable for both men and women, and can be used on any occasion from work to travel.
SHOEI's first carry-on case "X-CORE" is made of GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic), similar to helmets, and is a carry-on size with both high durability and good design. The use of GFRP provides a texture and robustness not found in ordinary carry-on cases, and the case is designed to withstand a 3kg striker, which is also used in helmet standard tests, being dropped from a height of 3m without penetrating the case. Furthermore, a video on SHOEI's website shows the case passing a lead ball impact test at a speed of 500 km/h, which is quite astonishing.
Measuring 53 cm high, 37 cm wide, and 24 cm deep, it fits within the sum of three dimensions of 115 cm, which is the carry-on size for international and domestic flights with 100 seats or more.
As an example of the shock-absorbing capabilities developed in helmets, X-CORE has also passed a 500 km/h lead ball impact test.
The corner guards and logo are made of aluminum for a premium look. The caster is the highest grade of HINOMOTO's highly acclaimed "miraclent®" caster, which combines quietness and gliding performance.
