The brand BENDA, manufactured by Hangzhou Saturn Power Technology in Hangzhou, China, is a start-up manufacturer launched in 2016, but has been gaining presence as a major player in a wide range of products from 125cc to large motorcycles and 4-wheel ATVs. It has also been showing creative attempts in terms of technology, and at the recently held Milano Show 2025, it presented a strong concept model with a 250cc horizontally opposed two-cylinder hybrid engine. Along with its original design, the brand has been gaining popularity overseas.

The Benda model will finally be officially introduced in Japan. The first model is the 250cc cruiser "Napoleon Bob 250," produced by Tokyo-based Wingfoot Co. The most striking feature, however, is the design of the front and rear suspension. The front forks are equipped with huge aluminum arms, with exposed damper springs on either side, like the garter forks found only on old Harleys and chopper customs. The actual construction is not a garter fork, but rather a unique mechanism based on a standard upright telescopic suspension, with the arms extending as they extend and retract, and the dampers supporting them. The damper is adjustable. The rear shock also looks like a single shock at first glance, but it is actually a twin shock with a linkage system. The suspension is compactly mounted inside the swingarm and has a limited range of motion, but the multi-link design with an L-shaped linkage allows for a large stroke. Together with the front forks, this gives the bike a unique style that combines a complex design with a bobber-like silhouette.

As is typical of the newer models, the equipment also has a high-end feel, with a full-color LCD speedometer and full LED lighting. The traction control system has also been added to the electronic control system. Separate handlebars and bar-end mirrors give the cockpit a simple, racy look. Five color variations are available: Retro Green, Phantom Black, Titanium Silver, Jazz Red, and Ivory White. Priced at 935,000 yen, the new model is scheduled to go on sale during 2025. The Napoleon Bob 250 is a hot new model in the cruiser category of the standard motorcycle class, a category that offers few options in Japan, and many riders are likely to be curious about it!
