2%er's SR400

SR400 choppers are more popular than ever. But unlike traditional Harley-based choppers, SR choppers tend to go compact. It’s a natural result—keep the frame simple, let the air-cooled single-cylinder engine shine. That said, there’s a problem: when a tall or bigger rider gets on, the bike can end up looking too small. This build, created by 2%er, a shop with plenty of SR chopper experience, solves that problem.

At first glance, this chopper sports a clean, classic silhouette. But a closer look reveals a clever tweak: not only have the front forks been extended, but the swingarm has been lengthened as well. The front wheel is a bold, chopper-standard 21-inch, and the rear is purposefully fitted with an 18-inch wheel. Thanks to these adjustments, the bike doesn't look undersized even when a rider with a bigger build gets on it. In fact, it achieves an ideal balance.

It's also worth noting that the Sportster-style fuel tank, solo seat, and other exterior parts are based on classic shapes, but were crafted with the bike’s balance carefully in mind. Despite the slightly larger frame, the entire design feels totally natural.

A builder’s choice shaped by a deep understanding of both SRs and choppers. This is a true example of a machine built to bring rider and bike together as one.

Handlebar

The handlebar riser uses the stock part as the base, with smoothing modifications applied. The one-off Z-bar is mounted in an unconventional way but it blends in seamlessly.

Electrical

A Unity-style original headlight keeps things vintage and suits the retro custom theme perfectly.

Bodywork

This one-off Sportster-style tank was crafted in-house, and painted by KAMIKAZE PINSTRIPE.

The seat is a straightforward solo type, paired with a ribbed rear fender for a timeless look.

Engine

The engine is stock, but it’s fitted with an FCR φ39 carburetor, adding to the riding fun.

Intake & Exhaust

The one-off exhaust features a ripple-finished exhaust pipe. It started as a simple drag pipe concept, but the result is far more artistic and eye-catching.

Chassis

The front wheel of the SR400 has been changed to a 21-inch.

The front forks have been extended using 10cm stainless fork joints, and the front wheel has been changed to a 21-inch.

A foot clutch and jockey shift combo, a staple of real-deal choppers, adds a completely different riding feel that hardcore fans love.
