X Diavel V4 (1158cc) Owner: Ao
The Ducati X Diavel V4 is a cruiser model that the Italian manufacturer is proud of, yet it has established a unique position for itself thanks to its high level of sport riding performance. As an evolution of the Diavel series introduced in 2015, it features a more refined design and the latest technology. In particular, the switch to a V4 engine has dramatically improved its performance, delivering the exciting ride characteristic of Ducati within the cruiser category. While retaining the basic cruiser configuration of a low center of gravity and long wheelbase, it also inherits the philosophy of Ducati’s traditional trellis frame, resulting in exceptional cornering performance. It is also equipped with advanced features such as electronically controlled suspension and riding modes, achieving a high level of both comfort and safety.
Mr. Ao switched from his previous Diavel Carbon to the X Diavel V4 in search of further evolution. He is satisfied with its “cool” styling, excellent fuel economy, and the safety and comfort provided by its numerous electronic controls. In particular, the cruise control’s divine ease of use is sure to reduce fatigue during long-distance trips. You can really sense the owner’s deep affection for the bike, which he affectionately calls “My Bike.”

■Reasons for Purchase, Intended Use, and Comparable Models
Upgrade from the Diavel Carbon
■Pros
Stylish, popular with foreigners, good fuel economy (20 km/L)
19L fuel tank capacity provides peace of mind; numerous electronic controls ensure safety
The cruise control is amazing
■Cons
The stock front footpegs make it hard to ride aggressively, so
so if you get tired of it, it’s a good idea to swap them out for central footpegs
Compared to the standard Diavel (V2 series), acceleration feels sluggish (but it excels at high speeds)
*When driving at high speeds, it feels like the engine braking has disappeared
■ Advice for prospective buyers
In general, Ducati models from 2015 onward are less prone to breakdowns
Maintenance costs might be slightly higher than for Japanese bikesIt doesn’t matter if it’s a moped, a liter bike, or a classic—anything goes
If you ride a bike you’re truly in love with, you’ll have no regrets in life.
■ Future Customization Plans
I want to switch to black Brembo brakes
I’ll skip the details about the mirrors
