At the Osaka Motorcycle Show, the Traditional Narrow Tank for the SR400 FI was displayed at the Custom Shop GOODS' booth. This product is a reproduction of the early model gasoline tank for the modern SR.
The nostalgic shape is faithfully reproduced to the millimeter!
■A seemingly ordinary SR on display at the Osaka Motorcycle Show... However, a closer inspection shows that it sports the long lost early model narrow tank!
The stock tank used for seven years after the model's introduction in 1978 is commonly known as the "narrow tank". It still has many fans due to its classic look, and many riders often say, "When I think of the SR, I think of the narrow tank."
However, it is not feasible to install the original narrow tank on a modern SR with fuel injection, and it is difficult to find one in good condition. Therefore, GOODS decided to use a 3D scanner to collect shape data directly from the original bike and reproduce the narrow tank down to the nearest 0.1mm.

SR fans flocked to the booth to see this tank, which promises a fitting on par with a stock product. Note that although the tank on display was painted red, the actual product for sale will be unpainted (steel).
