OHNO SPEED's KATANA

OHNO SPEED is known for its fine-tuned parts for the Suzuki GSX1100S/750S, the original KATANA, and this bike, which belongs to the shop's owner, is equipped with these original parts. The most distinctive feature of the bike's exterior is its long, low and sleek appearance. It is similar to that of an air-cooled KATANA, which puts the rider at ease. This is due to the GT Tail Cowl Kit installed on the tail section. This kit also provides a space to store rainwear, which is great because the KATANA originally has no storage space at all. The security is also good as it can be opened and closed with a single screw after removing the seat. The tail was extended by about 13 cm, and as a happy side effect, almost all mud splash from the rear tire is blocked.

Because the clutch was as heavy as or possibly heavier than that of the air-cooled KATANA, which is known for having heavy operation, a Light Clutch Holder was quickly prepared and released. Since then, parts have been slowly being added to the lineup. Because the KATANA is a modern bike, it has a high level of perfection and runs without a hitch. However, the more you ride the more you find parts that you might think are lacking. OHNO SPEED makes parts to fit those needs. For example, the stock Road Sport 2 tires are not bad, but the shop owner thought the air pressure setting was a little too high, so he set the tires at 230-240 kPa, which is often used for replacement tires. Then after changing the tire pressure he thought the suspension was not capable enough and decided to replace the rear shock. OHNO SPEED sells Ohlins shocks for sports use and they also have a lineup of Aragosta shocks, including a short type with good footing and a tight damper. The parts for KATANA are made to the satisfaction of the owner himself, who rides the KATANA religiously, and the number of parts for KATANA is likely to increase based on this bike in the future.

Handle

The Light Clutch Holder dramatically lightens clutch operation and also improves appearance. A machined mirror holder is required for installation.

Bodyworks

The Titanium Coat Windshield was manufactured based on the 5mm-thick KATANA stock option after repeated testing. It is made-to-order.

Although not installed on this bike, an integrated Short Tank Cover is also available to prevent interference with the tank cover when the handlebars are lowered. It is shaped to provide more space in the front of the cover. It is also compatible with clip-on handlebars and maintains the overall style of the bike.

Four exterior resin parts in the tail section were replaced, and the tail light harness was extended to include a small storage space under the seat.

In this image the GT Tail Cowl Base Kit is installed and the seat is removed. The kit consists of two side covers, a top cover, and an under cover. The top cover can be opened by loosening the screw in the center to reveal the interior space. The space on the left and right sides can also be used to hold quite a bit of stuff.

Chassis

The rear calipers are also converted to Brembo to match the Brembo calipers installed on the front as stock, and the front and rear are aligned.

Aragosta shocks for KATANA are available in four types, from the simple type (pre-load, extension damping, ride height adjustment) to the full kit shown in the photo (with remote adjuster and more added), each with stock ride height and 30mm lowering. The simple version can be used as a base, and can also be developed into a full kit by adding additional contents later on.

The stainless steel adjustable side stand is made by OHNO SPEED, modified from the stock part for the air-cooled KATANA. The look has completely changed and is suddenly very high quality. This is a completely made-to-order product.
