Kawasaki Motors Japan will sequentially release the 2027 models of the retro sport model "Z900RS" series starting August 1st. The highlight is the standard model, which was not available in the 2026 model year and is revived for 2027. It will be the most affordable in the series at 1,507,000 yen and will feature a new color, "Candy Tone Greenish Blue."

The Z900RS series, which inherits the DNA of Kawasaki's legendary motorcycle, the Z1, is a model that harmoniously blends classical styling with modern riding performance. Since its debut in 2017, it has garnered strong support from many riders.

For the 2027 model year, the most affordable standard model is revived with a new color, "Candy Tone Greenish Blue." While the 2026 model's most affordable option was the "Black Ball Edition" at 1,529,000 yen, this new grade is priced 22,000 yen lower. The equipment level follows that of the 2026 Black Ball Edition, but a key difference is that parts that were blacked out on that model are now finished in chrome or silver.

Incidentally, previous Z900RS models have featured colors that pay homage to the Z1. While the "Candy Tone Greenish Blue" adopted for the 2027 STD model bears a resemblance to the Z900 (A4) from 1976, a successor to the Z1, the line colors differ.

Z900RS Available in 3 Grades: STD, Black Ball, and SE

The all-black "Black Ball Edition" and the high-grade "SE" equipped with Brembo brakes and Öhlins rear suspension continue from the 2026 model. New features for all models include a revised seat cover, a narrower handlebar, an engine with newly adopted electronic throttle valves, and Kawasaki Cornering Management Function utilizing an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), as well as a quick shifter and cruise control. The color schemes and prices remain unchanged from the 2026 model.

The manufacturer's suggested retail prices are 1,507,000 yen for the aforementioned Z900RS (STD), 1,529,000 yen for the Black Ball Edition, and 1,837,000 yen for the SE (all prices include tax). The release dates are scheduled for August 1st for the Z900RS/SE and September 1st for the Black Ball Edition.
