The inverted front fork with 41mm inner tube remains fully adjustable, while the piston rod is aluminum and the spring wire diameter has been changed to achieve a weight reduction of 350g compared to the previous model. The rigidity of the fork has been optimized by changing the settings and redesigning the axle section to improve straight-line stability and tire contact feel. The steering stem is also newly designed, and the top bridge side is a perforated type optimized for rigidity and weight.

In addition, Yamaha's unique "Spin Forged Wheel" was newly adopted for the wheels. This is a thin-walled, lightweight rim that is formed by casting and then stretching under pressure. In addition, the cowl stays have been changed from steel to die-cast aluminum (273g less), and other details have been improved in terms of weight reduction and texture.

The indicator switch has a two-stage blinker function that allows the driver to choose between three blinks or continuous blinking. No consideration has been spared for user-friendliness.

The plastic tank cover has been changed from a conventional three-part design to a four-part design. The new cover is designed to be easy to lay down and easy to hold.

The M-shaped ducts, which are instantly recognizable as part of the YZF-R series, are retained, but the new R7 features a newly designed LED headlight with a compact module that fills the ducts, enhancing aerodynamic performance. The instrument panel has evolved from a conventional inverted LCD to a 5-inch full-color TFT display. Using the dedicated "Y-Connect" application, users can change settings for the YRC integrated control of electronic devices from their smartphones, display vehicle information, and record riding logs. The navigation screen can be displayed on the meters using the "Garmin StreetCross" navigation app, and the dedicated "Y-TRAC Rev" app for circuit driving is also supported, allowing lap time measurement, virtual pit board functions, and analysis of driving data based on the vehicle's CAN data. The Y-TRAC Rev application can also be used for lap time measurement and virtual pit board functionality.

The price is 1,166,000 yen (including tax), up 106,600 yen from the 2025 model. Considering the changes and additional equipment, this price is well within the acceptable range. The standard model is available in blue and black, while the "70th Anniversary Edition" with exclusive red and white colors and emblems is available in a limited edition of 200 units. The gauges have evolved to full-color TFT. The reserve tank, main switch placement, and clutch wire routing have also been optimized, and the meters themselves are more visible.

A wide variety of information and settings are mainly handled by switches on the left side, which can be operated intuitively with the cross-shaped keys. Inside, a flexible printed circuit board is used to achieve a compact size in relation to its functions.
