CB-SF's image color differs from generation to generation?
The new CB500SF unveiled in China is available in three colors, with black and red present in addition to the silver Spencer color displayed at the show. That is a good impression, but since the CB400SF has been in production for 30 years, the user age range is wide, and the impressionable coloringmay differ fromgeneration to generation.... We predict that the 400cc version (Japanese specifications) will be unveiled at the Osaka and Tokyo Motorcycle Shows in 2026, but in the meantime, let your fantasies run wild, In the meantime, let's keep our fantasies alive, and our wallets loosened, as we await Honda's next move!

2025 The CB500SF was unveiled at the Chongqing show in China, which opened on September 19, 2025, with successive CB400SFs on display at the venue to promote its different and storied history.

The CB500SF has acquired the modernity of the 2025 launch while keeping the CB-SF's typical atmosphere
Big Prediction! The livery of the new CB400 SuperFour
Candidate 1) CB500SF Silver (Chinese name Digital Silver)
First, let's start with the three colors already announced for the CB500SF. The first one is the Spencer color silver, which is the most popular color of CB! It is a color that suits the CB so well and is also used by its big brother, the CB1000F, that there is a high possibility that it will be used on the domestic version of the 400!
Candidate 2) CB500SF Red (Chinese name: Fiery Red)
The CB500SF Red is a calm color with a monotone line running through the austere burgundy base while taking advantage of the Spencer color graphics. It looks great as a car for adults.
Candidate 3: CB500SF Black (Chinese Obsidian Black)
The CB500SF Black shares the same graphics as the Spencer, but the matte finish gives the CB500SF a more modern look. This model is also likely to be popular in Japan.
Candidate 4: Spencer color with color difference
First is a different color version of the CB500SF Spencer color. The Spencer color was originally used on the 1982 CB750F/900F in North America, but a black base with orange and red coloring was also used on the 2001 CB1300SF, so there must be many who remember it. Many of you must have this color pattern in your memory.
Candidate 5: Pure red with a full sports mind
The red of the CB500SF has a calm and serene atmosphere, but a sports bike should have more vivid or red! So, while keeping the Spencer color graphics, we went with a tricolor of pure red with white & blue lines. Some of you may recognize this too, right? This is the color pattern used on the 2000 CB400SF & 1300SF.
Candidate 6) First NC31 Yellow
The first generation CB400SF & NC31, introduced in 1992, had a total of 5 color variations, but the solid yellow was particularly impressive. The design of the CB500SF seems to be respecting the NC31 in many aspects, so naturally it is a perfect match!
Candidate ⑦ First NC31 Red
This is a solid red color that also existed on the first NC31 model in 1992. It is a standard color that goes well with any bike, and of course it fits perfectly with the new CB400SF!
Candidate 8) First generation NC31 Black
This is also a color that existed on the first generation NC31, but it is also available on other years, and before that, black is the most popular color, so there is a 400% chance of adoption. The calm atmosphere is very nice!
Candidate ⑨BIG-1 color (white and red)
This is a very standard image color for CB1000SF/1300SF, but surprisingly, it was first used for the 400 in the 2014 model year, when the wheel design was changed and the side covers and tail cowl were redesigned. Naturally, there is no reason why it would not look good on the 400!
Candidate 10: NC42 CBX Red
The image of CB400SF in recent years might rather be in this color. It is a white and red coloring arranged from the coloring of the CBX400F, a famous Honda 400 machine, and was the last remaining coloring of the NC42, the last model to be discontinued in 2022, which also leaves a strong impression!
Candidate 11: NC42 CBX Blue
Also a CBX400F respect, white and blue. This is also a coloring that remained in the lineup until the last model of NC42. Incidentally, CBX color has been used many times in the model life of conventional CB400SF, and of course it looks good on the new CB500SF, but it may be a little difficult to paint the side covers to connect with the tank (the same applies to candidate 10, CBX Red).
Plus: logo or wing mark, that is the question?
When the CB400SF (NC31) first appeared, the tank mark was the "HONDA" logo, but it was changed to the Honda wing mark in the middle of the second generation NC39. Since then, the wing mark has been used all the way up to the final model NC42. Naturally, the wing mark looks more modern, but the HONDA logo, which has been decreasing in recent years, also has a great atmosphere on the CB (the CB1000F uses it). Which will be chosen for the new CB400SF?

The tank mark is the HONDA logo, and the NC31 full replica? The CB500SF is a perfect replica of the NC31 with the NC31 logo on the side cover. If you are of the "Naked Boom" generation, this is the way to go.
