On January 13, 2026, Triumph Motorcycles Japan held the brand event "TRIUMPH BRAND NIGHT. The event featured the Japan premiere of the new Modern Classic series and the announcement of Akemi Darenogare, a celebrity who loves motorcycles, as an ambassador for the brand. Six models, including the improved Scrambler 900, make their first appearance in Japan
The new modern classics announced this time include the "Scrambler 900," which features an improved design and frame, as well as the "Scrambler 1200 XE," "Bonneville T00/T120/T120 Black," "Bonneville Bobber," and "Bonneville Speedmaster," all with enhanced equipment, for a total of seven models. The models announced in October last year were unveiled for the first time in Japan.The event was held at Club Città, a live concert hall in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and the interior was designed to recreate the historic worldview of Triumph, which originated in England, by creating a space that was like a time slip to the good old "riders' cafes" of yesteryear.
Scrambler 900 (1,459,000 yen) The Scrambler 900 features a new frame, fuel tank and side covers, new inverted forks, radial mount calipers, aluminum swingarm, new rear shock, and a new muffler. Cornering ABS and traction control are also included.
Scrambler 1200XC (¥2,219,000) This model boasts a 21-inch front wheel, long-stroke suspension, and other authentic off-road features, and has been slightly updated with an improved Ohlins rear shock.
Bonneville T100 (1,359,000 yen) The 900 cc engine T100 gets a major equipment upgrade for the 2026 model. It features cornering ABS, traction control, two riding modes, headlights with DRLs, and a USB-C socket, with cruise control as an option.
Bonneville T120 (1,719,000 yen) The T120 is the star of the modern classic lineup, and this 2026 model features cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control, headlights with DRLs, and a USB-C socket. The T120 Black, with blacked-out engine, muffler, wheel rims, and other parts, is also available at the same price.
Bonneville Bobber (1,999,000 yen) Featuring fat 16-inch tires front and rear and a stripped-down look around the rear, the 2026 model has a revised tank capacity from 12 to 14 liters and a wider seat. It also features cornering ABS, traction control, headlights with DRLs, and a USB-C socket.
Bonneville Speedmaster (1,999,000 yen) This car is a tourer version of the Bobber. Changes to the 2026 model, such as thicker and wider seats, will follow the Bobber.
The event venue, Club Città, along with 19 motorcycles, was designed to resemble a British rider's café.
Akemi Dare Nogare was appointed ambassador.
The event was divided into two parts. The first part, which started at 18:00, featured a speech by Yosuke Onuki, President of Triumph Motorcycle Japan. In addition, Senior Marketing Manager Masakazu Kobayashi gave a presentation on the new Modern Classic series.In addition, Akemi Darenogare, TV personality/businesswoman and motorcycle enthusiast who owns two motorcycles herself, made an appearance. She was announced as Triumph's brand ambassador.Darenogare appeared on stage riding a Bonneville T120 Black and said, "I feel very happy to be chosen as an ambassador for a bike that has been around for 120 years and has a long history.She then talked about theappeal of Triumph, which she immediately started riding, as well as her own motorcycle life, enlivening the audience (see below for details).The second part of the event was a talk show featuring journalists who had test-ridden the new Modern Classics at overseas test-ride events. It's so much fun. I am an indoor person by nature, but if I had discovered motorcycles earlier, I would have been able to see a lot of fun scenery. Also, my brother, who I often ride with, takes very good care of me. He is usually unreliable (laughs), but when we ride our bikes, he is very dependable and I have come to know how great he is.MC: Even though you have only been with us for a short period of time, you seem to have made a big change in your life.Dalenogare: It is an indispensable part of my life, it is my "partner" now. I think about motorcycles all the time, to the point where I think "I want to go here on a motorcycle" wherever I go, or "It would be so nice to ride here on a motorcycle" when I am driving to a location. Most of my recommendations on news and social networking sites are now related to motorcycles.MC: That is a very exciting story! I know you are busy, but when do you think about riding a motorcycle?Dalenogare: When I am under a lot of stress or when I don't want to think about anything. When I ride, I can concentrate only on the bike and not think about anything else. When I feel like eating ramen, I just say to myself, "Okay, let's go to Chiba on the bike.MC: Unlike a car, it's nice to be able to move around easily.Darenogare: Yes, it is. It feels good to get to your destination, and you are full on the way back, but that also feels good. It may be a feeling that only people with a driver's license can understand (laughs).MC: That's nice. I heard that President Onuki also rides a motorcycle in his busy schedule.Onuki: I have been riding since I was in high school. It is also important to have enough torque to prevent the car from stalling. I was so nervous and panicky that I was told at the driving school that it was a "stall festival" (laugh), so I thought it is a very nice point for women that it is hard to stall and easy to ride.MC: President Onuki, you are a great admirer.Onuki: Thank you very much. As you said, the Modern Classic series is designed to be low in height and hard to stall. Even though it looks like a classic, it is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies such as ABS and traction control, making it a safe bike for any rider.MC: Now, the time is quickly approaching.
