Inheriting the sporty DNA of previous models, the new model has evolved in terms of driving performance through the adoption of a traction control system and a new frame. The new Cygnus X, which was first unveiled in Taiwan last fall, is the latest model in Yamaha's Cygnus series of moped scooters. The naming follows the air-cooled Cygnus X, which was in the lineup until 2020, but the equipment and performance are further updated from the current Cygnus Glyphus. The styling has changed significantly from the former air-cooled Cygnus and Cygnus Glyphus. The front side of the vehicle features a motif reminiscent of racing machine wings, and the underside covers and muffler protectors have been grained with a forged carbon finish, giving the vehicle a sporty, racing machine-like appearance. The newly developed compact projector-type LED headlamps and vertically positioned LED position lamps on the left and right sides give the front mask a novel and impressive appearance.

The previous generation "Cygnus X" was equipped with an air-cooled engine and was a famous machine with a long run of nearly 20 years.

The engine is based on the liquid-cooled 124cc Blue Core engine of the Cygnus Glyphus, with the CVT weight lightened and spring load adjusted to improve acceleration. The engine also features a new traction control system (TCS) that prevents slipping on wet or gravel roads. The exhaust system has been redesigned with an enlarged muffler tailpipe diameter to produce a more pleasing sound throughout the entire range. In addition, the frame was newly designed. The frame has been newly designed to improve longitudinal rigidity by approximately 19%, and the wheel rim widths have been slimmed down to achieve nimble handling. The suspension has also been strengthened with an extended front fork and suspension with a preload adjustment function. The front and rear brake discs have also been redesigned with larger diameters, allowing for more sensitive control of the vehicle.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 389,400 yen, an increase of 15,400 yen over the 374,000 yen price of the Cygnus Glyphus. Annual sales volume is expected to be 4,000 units.

The meter uses a color LCD liquid crystal display. It is equipped with an automatic dimming function.
