The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT is slowly gaining popularity, and its design has changed drastically from its predecessor, the GSX-S1000F; it looks almost like a YAMAHA. In addition to the great design, owners appreciate the powerful engine, which has carried over from the previous generation and is not usually typical of tourers. However, it is also lacking in some areas as a tourer. Here, we will introduce some recommended custom parts that can solve those issues felt when touring!

Complaint #1: Insufficient Loading Capacity
SUZUKI: Resin Side Case Set

Although the GSX-S1000GT is sold as a tourer, it has almost no carrying capacity in its stock form. A pannier case that can solve such problems is available as a stock SUZUKI option. The maximum capacity is 72 liters, which is so large that you may wonder if you really have that much stuff to carry. What is good about the stock option is that it doesn't interfere with the overall design. However, there is one downfall to this pannier case. Not only the case and mounting bracket, but also the lock nut to lock the case and the garnish decorative plate are all sold separately. Although it ends up being a bit pricey, we recommend this option for those who want a unified look and those who want to use parts endorsed by the manufacturer! Personally, I think they should have included this on the stock model from the beginning since it's perfect for the bike.
Color: Unpainted (Black)
Maximum capacity: 72L
Minimum capacity: 36L
Maximum loading weight: 5kg
Complaint #2: The stock windshield is too low and wind hits the rider
SUZUKI: High Windshield

The GSX-S1000GT's windshield is compact, which is a nice design but does not provide much wind protection. However, a high windshield stock option is available in anticipation of such feedback. This windshield reduces the wind blowing against the upper body and makes touring more comfortable. It is also Webike's No. 1 selling custom part for the GSX-S1000GT! We recommend it for owners who value comfort or often go on long touring trips.
Complaint #3: Aren't heated grips supposed to come standard?
SUZUKI: Grip Heater

Grip heaters are essential for owners who ride their bikes in winter. As above, this is also available as a stock option. Stock grip heaters are more expensive than aftermarket universal ones. However, stock products are easier to install and more reliable since they are specially designed for the model. Although they are not necessary all year long, they may sell out if you are thinking, "I'll just install them when it gets cold." For owners who ride in the winter, grip heaters are a lifesaver. We recommend installing a reliable stock grip heater right away.
Complaint #4: The helmet lock method is a pain
BABYFACE: Helmet Lock

The GSX-S1000GT has a wire for a helmet holder, but it is very troublesome since you have to remove the pillion seat and then put the wire through the helmet to secure it. If you install this helmet lock from BABYFACE, you can secure the helmet just by turning the key. However, some people find it difficult to insert the D-ring of their helmet into the helmet lock. For those people, we recommend purchasing a helmet anchor which makes it easier to lock by simply inserting it into the D-ring.

P&A International: Meter Panel Protection Film

The GSX-S1000GT is the first Japanese motorcycle model to be equipped with mySPIN, which can be used in conjunction with a smartphone app to display navigation on the monitor and do many other things. What if such a monitor were to get scratched? As with smartphones, it will instantly become difficult to see, and replacing it will also be difficult. P&A International's meter panel protection film is a popular solution. It comes in a set of two films, one super clear and one anti-glare, and you can choose whichever you prefer. We recommend the anti-glare film! If you are touring in sunny weather, you can avoid situations where you can't see your monitor due to sunlight reflection. You can see the amazing effect in the video below. We recommend this product for owners who go out touring whenever it's sunny and also don't want their meters to get damaged!
BABYFACE: Frame Slider

Frame sliders are the number one ranked product you don't want to actually have to use. They provide clearance between the ground and the bike in the event of a fall, preventing damage to the body of the bike. However, there are some disadvantages such as sliding on the asphalt and hitting a guardrail or damaging the frame with the slider's mounting bolts if you take a really hard fall. If you are concerned about damage to the frame, we recommend using the normal mount version instead of the direct mount since it has multiple mounting points. This way the force is distributed and the damage is comparatively less. The price is higher, but if you consider it as insurance in case of a big fall, it's definitely worth it.
Eazi-Grip: Knee Grip Support TANK GRIP PERFORMANCE

Eazi-Grip is used by many racing teams at the Isle of Man TT, one of the most dangerous races in the world, and provides intense gripping power to support the rider's knee grip. You may be thinking, "Isn't this kind of product for the track?" In fact, it has a great advantage for touring users as well. Knee grip while braking and cornering becomes easier, so there is less fatigue in the thighs and your riding posture is more stable. You can choose from two color patterns, clear or black, and in order of increasing grip strength, Street, EVO, and PRO are available. It is great that you can choose according to your needs. Stomp Grip is more famous in this category, but this product has a more reasonable price. We recommend it for those who have never used knee grips before.
Customization is necessary to make this bike a full-scale tourer!

The concept of the GSX-S1000GT is that it is a tourer with focus on ride performance, so it needs to be customized with stock options and aftermarket parts to make it a true touring-spec model. Among the limited custom parts currently available, we have introduced parts for touring recommended by our staff. Since the model itself is very popular, we expect to see more parts from various manufacturers in the future. Feel free to check out the link below for other GSX-S1000GT custom parts.
