SANCTUARY's GSX1100S KATANA
Here is a sleek bike that represents a modern reinterpretation of the Katana custom image from the days when customization was a trend. This bike initially began as a restoration project for a non-functioning bike brought in by the owner and subsequently evolved into a complete custom build. It bears the serial number 555, signifying its status as a fully customized build bike. While one might anticipate the utilization of Nitro Racing and Sculpture brand parts on this bike, it actually incorporates slightly different elements.
The stem and swingarm produced by Sculpture are distinctive, but the bike is generally customized with functional parts, such as a Yoshimura exhaust system and Gale Speed rear master, to suit the owner's taste. The unique flare pattern, which combines tribal and modern design elements, was created by a friend based on the owner's team emblem and painted by Shakin' speedgraphix. This one-of-a-kind design adds a stylish touch. The complete customization reflects the owner's personal taste, and the full paint job further enhances the bike's unique characteristics.
Handle
The front cowl is stock, and the windshield is manufactured by Magical Racing. Clip-on Handlebars are made by K Factory for Φ43mm, and the steering stem is a Sculpture-designed piece. The front master is a Brembo RCS, and the clutch holder that matches it is produced by Kohken. The meter is an original Katana meter with an added Yoshimura Progress Meter.
Bodyworks
The exterior will be painted by Shakin' speedgraphix, based on a flare pattern in blue, which is the owner's favorite color.
The tail cowl is a Magical Racing SPL seat kit with a small compartment inside. The under cowl is also by Magical Racing. The rear turn signals are mounted on the side of the license plate holder, and the front turn signals are integrated into the mirrors.
Engine
The engine is based on the '81 GSX1100S and has been enlarged from 1,074cc to 1,134cc using Wossner Φ74mm forged pistons. The crankshaft has been lightened, and the valve guides have been replaced with custom ones. Yoshimura ST-1 camshafts are utilized, while the ignition system is a Uotani SP2.
Intake & Exhaust
The carburetor is a TMR-MJN Φ40mm side-link type. The cylinder head cam cover is made of Yoshimura's magnesium.
Chassis
The steps are by Nitro Racing. The frame was reinforced in seven places, and the rear suspension was extended wide to ensure proper alignment of the drive chain track using RCM's methods.
The front fork is Ohlins RWU, and the brakes on the front consist of CNCAxial 4P calipers combined with Sunstar Neoclassic discs with SMB support.
The rear brakes are Gale Speedmaster with Brembo CNC 2P calipers and Sunstar premium racing discs. The exhaust is a hand-bent Yoshimura titanium exhaust.
The rear shocks are Ohlins Blackline, and the swingarm is a Sculpture wide swingarm. The front and rear axles are made of JB chromoly.
