Old School AMA Style: GSX1100S KATANA Custom

BrightLogic's GSX1100S KATANA

This custom is by BrightLogic, a custom shop that has worked on many KATANAs. The engine is 1135cc, and the frame has a style that resembles the '82 AMA Superbike Yoshimura KATANA. The seat rail is raised straight up, and the rear shock mount is newly installed outside of its original position. The inverted front forks are installed that accommodate 17-inch wheels, giving it an unwieldy look.

When building such aggressive custom bike, BrightLogic always fix the frame, replaces consumable parts, and inspects and replaces the suspension before delivering the finished one. Similar treatment is given to the engine. The common thing across all customs is BrightLogic's concept to build a bike that allows the owner to run freely and focus without fatigue.

Bodyworks

This bike was custom-made in matte black by an owner who had seen a previous glossy black model. The front and rear cowls are made of carbon, and the mirrors are Magical Racing's carbon monocoque body, NK-1 type.

The seat with side shaping to avoid interference with the rear suspension is Supreme. The ultra-compact blinkers are laid out next to the license plate.

Electrical

The bike features Acewell all-in-one gauges, Brembo front masters, and Domino clutch lever. The tank has been replaced with an aluminum tank.

Engine

The 1135cc engine was carefully assembled, and the underside of the cover was cut. The bike also features a TMR Φ40mm MJN carburetor.

Intake & Exhaust

A modern-looking Akrapovic silencer is installed. The wheels are MAGTAN JB4 in 3.50-17 for the front and 6.00-17 the rear.

Chassis

The front forks are inverted type by Ohlins. These are fitted using BrightLogic original upper bracket. The front brake caliper is Brembo CNC 4-piston.

Ohlins Legend Twin rear shocks are installed. The drive chain size is 520 by RK.

The steps are BrightLogic original products, available in a simple one-position design. The oil catch tank is also the same. The shift shaft holder is also provided, making it a bike that won't tire the rider out with its reliable operation.
