Here is a "HONDA MONKEY" custom by Webike community user "Farmer". Unable to resist his strong desire for a Monkey bike, he finally succumbed and bought one. He rides it even though there's no real need, and he polishes the bike with an unusual amount of care. What kind of customizations have been made to it? A DAYTONA Sports up exhaust, along with CF POSH glass wool attached to the pipe. The glass wool isn't wrapped around the exhaust pipe; instead, it is wrapped around the inner insertion section of the silencer and secured with stainless wire. This modification significantly reduces the noise from aftermarket exhausts during acceleration and eliminates the loud popping sounds. The mirrors are TANAX NAPOLEON traditional mirrors. There are many chrome mirrors available, but he chose these due to their price, design, and reliability. To increase the bike's bore size, a KITACO big carburetor kit was installed. The tripmeter offers excellent visibility during both day and night, making it user-friendly. With the Monkey's bore-up, it was also fitted with a DAYTONA Power Advance power filter. For the standard rear box, the X-EUROPE mini bike box with a capacity of approximately 10 liters is used, with the understanding that it won't fit a helmet. The more common 23-liter option creates an imbalance after installation, which can be slightly inconvenient while riding. As a playful touch, the box has been equipped with an LED brake light. In terms of suspension, a SHIFTUP front fork kit, TYPE-1 rear shocks, and SP Takegawa fork boots were installed. The rear shock was adjusted by raising it 30mm, so the front fork was also raised by 25mm. This resulted in improved stability during cornering and braking, making it highly recommended for city riding. While the owner wished for a bit more damping force on the rear shock, he found the current adjustment satisfactory considering the balance with the spring. The DAYTONA aluminum long swingarm is well-balanced at 8mm longer than stock, offering a level of rigidity that far surpasses the original. The owner has also applied a buffing process to it. Additionally, there is no interference between the swingarm and the rear brake switch following the replacement. Alongside a swingarm replacement, the drive chain was recently upgraded to the DID Standard Series in gold and black, as featured in many recent articles. Despite its golden appearance, it seamlessly blends into the overall aesthetics of the bike. The owner proudly declares that he will ride this Monkey until it's worn out, and we can only hope for a warm future for him and his beloved Monkey.
