SPEEDTEC's GPZ750R
This motorcycle is a GPZ750R Custom by SPEEDTEC and K-Factory; however, you may think that it is not a GPZ, and that may be because of the cowl which is shaped like that of the KR1000, a Kawasaki factory racer from the early 1980s. Also, the front wheels are 18 inch and the cylinder is hidden, so it is natural that people would think so. But that is also the concept of this bike.
This GPZ750R was customized to compete in the ZERO-1 class of Taste of Tsukuba (TOT). Mr. Ueda, a representative of the custom shop SPEEDTEC, is both the builder and rider. Mr. Kuwahara, a representative of K-Factory, a parts manufacturer that offers a wide range of products including Ninja parts, was there to supprt this custom. Lastly, Mr. Take, a representative of Doremi Collection, agreed with the theme of a "Ninja custom that no one has ever seen before" set forth by these two Ninja enthusiasts. He provided a prototype of the Kawasaki KR style exterior for the ZRX1200DAEG (not for sale) and 18-inch front and rear wheels from MorrisMAG. If you take a closer look at the bike, you can clearly see that it is a Ninja Custom from the added aluminum downtube, the shape of the step area, and the billet covers mounted on either side of the engine.
Bodyworks
The steering stem is from K-Factory and the clip-ons are mounted under the top bridge. An analog engine tachometer is placed in the center, and a Yoshimura PRO-GRESS meter is added in front of it. The right master cylinder is a Brembo radial, and the clutch is a Brembo RCS.
The KR-style bodywork is a prototype by Doremi Collection, and unfortunately KR-style exteriors are not available on the market. The tank consists of a cover and an aluminum tank inside. The inner tank, cowl brackets, and fittings are one-off fabrication by SPEEDTEC.
The style of placing the oil cooler behind the duct above the headlight (above the front racing number) was also used on the KR1000.
Engine
The engine is an 847cc spec, combining POSH Φ74.5mm pistons sold for the GPZ900R and a GPZ750R crankshaft. The cam, cam sprocket, and springs are from WEB, the clutch is a TSS slipper clutch, and the oil pump is from the ZZR1200. The crankcase is GPZ750R spec to meet with regulations, but the inside of the case has ventilation holes to reduce pressure loss.
Intake & Exhaust
All machined products such as subframes, steps, and oil bypass kits, as well as the silencer and titanium water pipes, are made by K-Factory.
The carburetor was replaced with an FCR Φ41mm due to malfunction of the TMR Φ38mm that was originally installed and set up. The air filter is RAMAIR.
Chassis
The front forks are Öhlins φ43mm, and the front brakes are a combination of Brembo radial calipers and SUNSTAR discs.
The swingarm is also K-Factory aluminum, and the rear shocks are YSS. 18-inch front and rear wheels are MorrisMAG wheels by Doremi Collection, 2.75-18-inch front and 4.50-18-inch rear. The tires are Pirelli Phantom Sport Comp RS.
